For once we left early after a good breakfast beginning with some road walking and climbing to 1035m
with views of where we had come from but no views of where we were to walk to.
We had even found our first mid-morning coffee for days at St.Germain and also a post office
from where to send cards. Finally we came to Montjoie 719m from where we could look down on Le Puy
in all it’s splendour; it was a lovely sight.
Walking down to Le Puy a storm was brewing and the temperature rose to 30°. Sue's feet were so hot
and walking on paved paths became very uncomfortable (causing the first blisters ever!)
We reached the hotel but first went to the church next door to give thanks for a wonderful Way!
The town was bigger than we expected and we bought tickets to go home by train,
before settling in for a few days sight seeing.
